| The Fat Lady’s Waiting
I slide through the portals with wisdom and grace
Lips spread wide and upward on face
There she sets waiting a mount
The seconds are closing…faster I count
Cover my head as the courts do say
I’m ready to pounce, the air is my prey
Into the saddle I fit so serene
Anticipating a reverberating scream
At touch of my thumb, she purrs like a kitten
The frost on the ground is now being smitten
A flick of my wrist, she begins to growl
Across my face, a little boy smile.
Backward we roll with side to side wobble
Positioning for the pull of a cold steel throttle
A left toe touch gently in place
Has her ready to explode into space
Down the earth bed we begin to slide
The road is not solid, grin I must hide
A flick of my wrist she begins to sail
Out of the rear…a rooster tail
Pause for a moment, each way is clear
The time has come to have no fear
A flick of my wrist… a power surge
V-Twins hidden for fear of the scourge
Sparkling trees and whistles of air
Scents abound like fragrance so fair
Swooping and surging bend after bend
I praying the joy never to end
Heads do turn and thumbs go up
A litter I feel as the choicest pup
Questions abound and wonder of sight
Proud but humbly I explain with delight
We’re off again, new roads appear
Blessings from Heaven, of this I am clear
A flick of my wrist, adrenal delight
Bye ya’ll….we’re out of sight.
